Barbara Schöning

Nach der Ausbildung an der Münchner Fachakademie für Fotodesign studierte ich Ethnologie und Politik. Parallel arbeitete ich als Fotografin im In- und Ausland. 2008 wechselte ich auf die Seite der Redaktionen. Seitdem arbeite ich als freie Bildredakteurin für Magazine, Zeitschriften und Online-Plattformen. Egal ob Organisation und Kalkulationen von Fotoproduktionen - Betreuen von Fotograf:innen, Illustrator:innen und Infografiker:innen - Recherche und Beschaffung von Bildmaterial bei Bildagenturen, Fotograf:innen-Seiten oder Bildarchiven - Klärung der Bildrechte jeglicher Art; ob eigenständig allein oder eingebunden im Team; ob vom eigenen Büro aus oder beim Kunden vor Ort; meine Leidenschaft gehört der Welt der Bilder! Die Arbeit als Bildredakteurin bleibt spannend, nicht nur wegen der Entwicklung der KI, und meine Neugierde ist noch lange nicht gestillt. Ich freue mich auf die Zusammenarbeit mit Ihnen!

After my education in photographic design in Munich, I worked as a photographer in Germany and abroad. Beside that I graduated in cultural anthropology and politics. 2008 I started to work as a freelance picture editor and gained many experiences working for magazines, newspapers and online platforms. No matter what - organisation and calculation of  photo productions - briefing and supervision of photographers, illustrators and infographic artists - searching out suitable images of different sources - clarifying image rights - working alone or within a team, at my office or on site - my passion belongs to the world of images! I love my work and I am still very curious to do more. I am looking forward to working together with you!
